Test Fixture for Low Temperature CCD Testing. ex-Kodak/OnSemi.
This was previously used by Kodak to chill large CCD image sensors and test them under vacuum (using an integrating sphere). I imagine this was custom made. There is a peltier junction assembly and a mechanism for the copper to touch the bottom of the IC under test.
I believe this is nickel-plated copper, it is quite dense and not magnetic. I see copper in the threads and under the plating when the surface is sanded.
